The reason I said that I was ready to give up is because of my age and health. I was born in 1945, have COPD and am completely tone deaf. She got it out of an old Fannie Farmer cookbook, which I have because it was Grantsie's when she first got married. She used it for years. Has all the handwritten notes, drips, and drops. And it's still one of the best around - except maybe when it calls for some lard, bacon drippings, etc. But that's at the discretion of the chef. xo :)
